Jeannette married Alonzo B. Clemons in about 1852. She was the daughter of William and Mary Scott Cummings of the Town of Putnam, Washington County. Alonzo and Jeannette had at least two children in New York and two in Vermont. After they moved west they had three children in Wisconsin and one in Iowa. According to the 1900 census, she had given birth to 8 children, seven of which were still living at the time. They are all accounted for.

After her husband died in 1892, Jeannette continued to operate the family's hotel in Coggon until her own death in 1910.
