William Milton Clemons Born: 22 Sept 1857, Benson, Rutland Co., Vermont Died: 12 Aug 1940, probably Coggon, Iowa. Buried: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, Linn Co., IA Parents: Alonzo B. Clemons, Jeannette Cummings Married: Did not marry. Children: None

William was the second son of Alonzo B. and Jeannette Clemons, and the first of their children born during their residence in Vermont. Once the Clemons family moved to Coggon, William went to work in the family's hotel and stayed until they got out of the business in about 1925. After the death of his mother in 1910, William may have been in charge of the business. But by 1930, he was 72 years old and working as a laborer. He never married and had no children. He lived most of his life with one or more of his siblings.
