First thing: cross the Perrine Bridge. This is looking east in the morning. You can see Evel's ramp.
The bridge was under construction in 1974 when Evel attempted his jump.

Some waterfalls visible from the bridge. There were BASE jumpers hanging out near the bridge with their parachutes, but it
didn't look like any jumping was imminent, so I headed north, which happened to be uphill.

The word of the day was "irrigation." The sounds of irrigation surrounded me all day. And sometimes I got wet.
Not a problem. It was pretty hot--probably in the low 90s--though it didn't feel very hot to me.

At one point I saw the giant hay bale collection devices. They are trucks that cruise the fields and scoop up the bales using a forklift
and then toss the bale over the top onto the truck's back. I took a picture but in my excitement I must have jostled the
camera because it came out blurry.

The historic site of the day was the Minidoka Relocation Center, where thousands of Japanese-Americans were interned during WWII.
These are the remains of the reception buildings.

Despite there being no visitor center, the Park Service has done a good job with the site.

I wasn't expecting there to be anything here, but there are several buildings, and interpretive signs and a trail around the site.

Back on the road. I was looking for those famous potatoes. Initially I thought these might be potatoes. Now I'm not so sure.
From something I saw on the internets, I think some other plants I saw were potatoes. They were in bloom. Yes, the potatoes were in bloom.

Was this a church? A barn? A house? Who knows?
I expect to be staying in a yurt tomorrow night at Castle Rocks State Park near City of Rocks National Preserve.
I doubt the yurt has internet access, so there will probably be no update tomorrow. Or maybe the next day. Who knows?
