Another beautiful day in Oregon. And a tailwind. And a nice road pretty much all the way into Portland.

The line was too long at VooDoo Doughnuts. You can almost feel the tears behind those sunglasses.

A few minutes later I was at Mill Ends Park. I had to be very careful lest my bike fall over and crush it.

The park is too small to support much wildlife, but if you look closely at this photo, you might just see a bear!

Just a normal day in Portland.

I wandered around a little and stumbled across these Dragon boat races. Not sure where the one boat is going.

The Navy was in town giving tours on these things (there's a Canadian ship behind them). Security was tight. There were machine
gun guys around and a whole big chunk of the waterfront was fenced off.

And there was a Coast Guard machine gun guy out in the river.

Meanwhile, I was delayed by a drawbridge. Pedestrians and cyclists piled up on the bridge waiting for a barge full of dirt to go by.

Then I rode through the bicycle-friendly streets of Portland north toward the river.

There were construction detours that forced me past Portland International Raceway. There was something going on there.

The last 10 miles of the day were on Marine Drive and it's associated trail. That's Mt. Hood in the distance. It's getting closer.

I only post this because I rode off the trail trying to figure out what it is. It appears to be a piece of driftwood dressed
up to look like an alligator. It even has teeth.
It's back to the hills tomorrow.
