Mary Jane Flanery was probably born in Ireland and may have immigrated sometime between 1850 and 1855. She married Archibald Clemons in about 1855. They had two children: Abraham A. (1856) and Nancy Jane (1860). Mary Jane died of diphtheria on August 11, 1864 at the age of 29.
