Day 16: Branson to Springfield. 44 miles. I hope this is the
last day that the Ozarks kick my ass. Like a giant chicken.
Wait, what? Why didn't I know about this place? And why do they
sell tickets?
And there it is: the most famous place in all of northern
Branson. The current show is Chinese acrobats.
The Ozarks kicking my ass. After a run to downtown Branson, I
jumped on the highway and pushed north up and down the hills.
After about 20 miles I got off the highway and on to back roads.
I don't think there is 10 feet of level ground in this part of
Missouri.
Turns out that the whole area is an eroded plateau. Eventually I
got out of the eroded part and on to the plateau.
The Middle School in Spokane, MO has a road under it.
How unfortunate.
Oooh. Look what I found. A new iPhone!
Oops. I guess not. Having had my ass kicked all morning, I
decided not to visit the Wilson's Creek Battlefield and headed
straight to my hotel.
Maybe I'll hit the battlefield tomorrow.
