Belle Clemons was the first of the three Clemons children that were born in Wisconsin. She traveled with the family to Iowa and worked as a clerk in the family hotel. Later, she became part owner of the hotel after the death of her parents. Belle always lived with her parents or her brother William, and only in her final years lived nearby as a lodger with the elderly widow Sarah Burnside. She died in 1923 at about the age of 60, never having married.
