A fairly easy day considering the distance and the heat. Linda met me at about mile 55, so I was bag-free for about half the day.

I rolled out of Sandersville sans breakfast at about 7:20. I thought about stopping at the Waffle House on my way out of town, but I decided I needed to throw down some miles.

South Georgia morning.

I stopped at the store in Davisboro and discovered that I'd developed a taste for Little Debbie Cinnamon Cakes. Not good. I had another one in Louisville.

And there were cows.

And I unexpectedly crossed US1 just outside Louisville. That was about the
most exciting thing to happen all day. Other than a truck nearly running me over.

Linda showed up somewhere between Midville and Millen. Yea!
She took the bags and the bike got lighter. Woo-hoo!

We stopped for lunch at the Subway in Millen. They have a nice courthouse there.

All in all, the scenery was fairly dull today.

This is as good as it got.

Suburban Statesboro. A bunch of nut-jobs, I guess.

Courthouse in Statesboro.

After a long day of riding, I rolled in to the Holiday Inn. And we rolled back out to the Longhorn for a big sirloin and mixed vegetables.

Tomorrow should be the last day of riding. I might just ride to downtown Savannah, but if I get in too early I might ride all the way to the ocean.

We'll have all day Saturday to bum around in Savannah.

Oh, the truck story. I watched this truck waiting to pull out on the highway. From my angle I couldn't tell whether it was waiting to turn left or turn right. It waited for a couple of cars. It rolled backward to get a better angle. And then lurched forward and made a very wide left turn just as I was riding by. I weaved around the nose of the truck on the very edge of the road. The truck never slowed or braked. Just kept going and then passed me. Kind of like what happened to Balint without the actual crash and swearing.
