Day 23

Rest day in Salt Lake City, UT

Another day of tourism started at Temple Square. Impressive fountain.

Nice temple.

Nice tabernacle, sans choir.

Then we drove up to Park City and the Olympic ski jumping place. This pool just re-opened today.

There is a museum full of 2002 Olympics stuff. And this display of a boot failure on a system that actually shipped in 2002 and has never been updated.
This is original Olympic-era equipment!

Back outside there were little kids and big kids alternately doing the freestyle skiing thing into the pool.

We drove up to Park City proper where we had lunch across the street from another sock store.

I can't remember the last time we were in Park City. I think it was the 90's. Probably looks the same. Except there was snow back then.

And we stumbled across a Banksy.

Finally, we stopped at the High West distillery and picked up a bottle of bourbon to take home.

We got back in the car and drove all the way down out of the mountains, through the city, and out to the Great Salt Lake...which was not
where it was supposed to be.

We had to walk a good 3/4 mile to get to the water. Then we were tormented by flies all the way back to the car.
Was it worth it? Not really.

So, naturally we drove all the hell way back through town to the Utah Natural History Museum on the Utah State campus.
The place was infested with children. I took only one good picture.

I took another picture in the parking lot. You cannot see our car from here.
