Another long day. Nothing much to see, but it certainly beats a day
in the box. I barely noticed those hills. What I noticed was the
unrelenting SE wind.
The roads around here run in a grid pattern--each road one mile
apart. So I had a helpful tailwind for all my northward legs, and a
punishing headwind for all my eastward legs. And I actually did
notice the heat today.
Not much intersting scenery today. Bridge, water.
Rural mansion.
Tugboat in a field.
Gathering hay rolls. I stopped at a town called Viborg to get out
of the wind for a while.
Sounds like an alien villain. I think the name is Danish.
This one really shows the wind. Nice tailwind here.
Look! Whitecaps on a little pond! Okay, I know, you get it. It was
windy.
Just think how much cooler it would be if this town was named
Beer.
Tomorrow is likely to be a short day. I'm riding only to
Brandon--which is basically a suburb of Sioux Falls. I will
certainly take a ride through town, and maybe a ride out to the Iowa
line. I hear there's a big casino out there.
