Day 21

  Edinburgh, Scotland to London, England

Day 21. Travel from Edinburgh to London. We got up with plenty of time to drag the bags down the five flights of stairs of our excellent, but liftless
hotel, and across the street to Edinburgh's Waverly Station. There was plenty of room for the bike and the new red thing in the baggage area
of the train.

As is always the case when I am riding trains all day, the weather was fantastic--even hot.

And yeah, first class. We arrived in London on the Queen's official birthday. Rather than drag our huge bags around onto and
off of trains, we took a cab from King's Cross Station to all the way to Heathrow. We'll be spending the night at an airport
hotel and flying out tomorrow.

Just to add some stress, I was able to check in but not able to get a seat. Thanks, BA! I think they overbooked the flight.
So, for comfort we went to a fancy French restaurant. I had some kind of pork tenderloin thing.
It was delicious and pretty.

This was dessert. That apple thing is full of Granny Smith Apple mousse.
It was a strange three weeks in the UK. A terror attack, an election resulting in a hung parliament, and a terrible fire in a
high rise apartment building. I hope things get better.
