Day 16. Inverness to Lairg. 64 miles. A look back at Inverness from the bridge over the firth.

The weather looked pretty good, so I started without rain gear. The wind was a big factor. Tailwinds at the beginning
and soul crushing headwinds near the end.

We stopped several times for snacks, including in Tain, where I indulged in an Irn Bru--the most popular soft drink in Scotland.
It tastes like a mix of bubble gum and ginger ale.

Woo-hoo! Another Pictish stone! That's two for the trip! And that's enough. We rode right by the next one.

It rained as soon as we left Tain. And it started getting cold--what with the headwind and all.

A warning from the constabulary regarding our speed.

National Cycle Route 1.  Seriously.

After many hours we finally rolled into Lairg. Tomorrow we're planning a very long day in order to have a very short day on Wednesday.

Haggis appetizer of the day.
