Day 6

Friday, 2 Jun 2017
  Cirencester, Gloucestershire to Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
16.2 miles, 1h28m, 11.0 mph
Elapsed Time: 1h44m, Max speed: 38.3mph
Total Climbing: 571ft, Max elevation: 731ft
Total mileage: 321.1

We planned a rolling rest day for today. Just a short ride of 16 miles from Cirencester to Cheltenham. We had plenty of time so we walked around
town a bit before we started. This might be the biggest hedge yet.

We spent an hour or so in the Corinium Museum.

It's really about the history of Cirencester, but mainly covers the Roman period. There are many, many mosaics.

This ancient butcher looks like a Roman housewife just asked for the mutton to be sliced thin.

Then we got on our bikes and rode to Cheltenham in the rain right down the A435. No backroads climbing up and down
hills for no reason today. Time for beer. Long day tomorrow up to Telford.
